The dissertation is devoted to study of role of the plasma level of B-natriuretic peptide (BNP) and the polymorphism of angiotensin II type 1 receptor gene (AT1R) in beginning and development of essential hypertension EH) in male patients. The presence of C allele of AT1R is a risk factor of development of EH in male inhabitants of Vinnitsa region. The BNP cut point level (50 pg/ml) was counted up for auxiliary diagnosis of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction
