Shevchenko A. Paramphystomatidosis of ruminant animals (epizootology, therapy and prophylaxis)

The object of investigation: cattle, affected by agents of paramphystomatidosis. The purpose of investigations: study of paramphystomatidosic invasion of cattle in the conditions of marshy woodlands (Polissya) and forest-steppe (Lisostep) of Ukraine, determination of peculiarities of epizootology and diagnostics and also development of effective remedies against this helminthiasis. The methods of investigations: epizootologic, clinical, helminthoovoscopic, hematologic, immunologic, biochemical, pathologoanatomic and statistical. Theoretical results: it is determined that in the conditions of farms and private sector of Kyiv and Chernigiv regions of marshy woodlands (Polissya) of Ukraine 12,2% of animals are affected by agents of paramphystomatidosis. Dependence of the level of invasiveness of cattle by agents of paramphystomatidosis on the season is proved. It is determined that extensiveness of paramphystomatidosic invasion has two peaks - in spring and in autumn. It is found out that in Ukraine there are two species of paramphystomatids, among which in western and northern regions of Polissya prevail P. ichikawai and on its south-east - L.scotiae. Animals of Lisostep has only liorhisis. It is determined that a new preparation Rafensol is little toxic and do not influence on the character of intestinal motor activity and also do not change periodical character of gastric motor activity and duodenum motor activity of dogs. Use of its therapeutic doses promotes normalization of immunologic blood values to the level of values of healthy animals. Practical results: it is determined that Rafensol is an effective remedy when treating of cattle who are sick on paramphystomatidosis, when treating animals who are sick on paramphystomatidosis. It is found out that Rafensol is 1,4 times more effective in comparison with Brovalsen- emulsion. The novelty: peculiarities of season movement of invasiveness of cattle by agents of paramphystomatidosis in zone of Polissya of Ukraine are found out. Belongings of paramphystomatids of Lisostep of Ukraine to the species is determined. It is developed and approved normative-technological documentation and repetition work of preparation Rafensol for dehelmintization of cattle affected by agents of paramphystomatidosis is regulated. It is determined its toxicity and influence on the organisms of animals and it is also fixed its therapeutic dose. The banch of use is veterinary medicine.
