Essay

The analysis of Piotr Sztompka's, Polish sociologist, social changes concept expressed subject to the events of the end XX century in Poland similar to the modern events in Ukraine was carried out in the thesis. The integral idea about a creative contribution of the present famous sociologist was formed in the work for the first time in the native sociology. The methodological and theoretical principles, conceptual and categorical means of the researcher were investigated. The social formation theory, from which position P.Sztompka analyses the problem of changes, was reviewed. The main elements of P.Sztompka's social changes concept were emphasized and analysed. The analysis of P.Sztompka's sociocultural trauma concept which is fundamental for explanation changes in post communist countries was made. The trauma structuring schedule was proposed. The last years' events in Ukraine were investigated from the position of sociocultural trauma concept.
