Butkovska N. Dynamics of the social status of ethnic community (after the example of Poles of Zhytomyr region)

The dissertation which is based on all-embracing paradigm (the theory of structuration by А.Giddens, the genetic structuralism by P.Bourdieu) deals with theoretical aspects of research of social status of ethnic community and empirical investigation of dynamics of the social status of Zhytomyr region Polish community is made. Due to the new approach to understanding of social structure given by comprehensive paradigm the social status is complex considered: the status of an individual and the group he belongs to. Thus in the meanwhile undominating tradition of using the microanalysis is kept. It gives the possibility to trace the dynamics of the social status of ethnic community through the transference of an individual in the context of a single family, which is fixed through the intergeneration change of the position, he takes as compared with his forerunners by the following social indexes as: profession, level of education, ethnolinguistic competence, level of life.
