Kalyta O. Language ways of the irony expression in modern Ukrainian small prose

The dissertation is dedicated to the research of the language ways of comic expression in modern Ukrainian small prose on wide factological material. In the work were found out the philosophically-esthetic essence of comic, reasons and features of its national specific, described differential signs of irony as philosophically-esthetic and linguistic category. Irony regards as equal form of humour, which can function as stylistic method or can be the display of subjectively-author's modality and be realized on the level of whole text. There were realized the systematic describe the ways of expression the situation irony in modern Ukrainian small prose and determined the specific of its functioning; found out the role of vertical, horizontal context and background knowledge for creating and adequate decoding of associative irony. Were investigated kinds of lexical repeats, with the help of which is producing the ironical sense, and showed models of ironical sense generating at dialogical quotation. The analysis of allusions and citations in modern prose texts of small genre forms had taken and were described kinds of their transformations. The author's and character's speech ways of co-operation for the irony realization had placed.
