The dissertation is on the competition of a scientific rank of the candidate of psychological sciences on a speciality 19.00.07 - pedagogical and age psychology. The Central Institute Afterdiploma Pedagogical Education of Pedagogical Academy sciences of Ukraine. Kiev, 2006. The dissertation contains theoretical and empirical research of a problem, the manifestation features of mental states of students in educational process. The analysis of different scientific approaches to use of functional music as means of optimization of mental states of a person in different kinds of activity is carried out. It is proved, that corrective opportunities of functional music are insufficiently used in educational process in higher school. In the contents of dissertation the research's results of dynamics of mental states of students in traditional conditions of training are submitted. The prospects of using the functional music are opened and opportunities are proved. The technique of regulation of mental states with the help of functional music is developed, the technology of realization of the program of regulation of mental states is also specified with the help of music-therapy. It is experimentally confirmed the influence of music-therapy on change of mental states of students in stressful situations of educational process. Tendencies of optimization of mental states of students in educational process under influence of functional music are revealed. It is proved, that mental states of researched after a passing examinations also not optimum. They can't be referred to absolute norm, and are original "quasinorm" which though is accompanied by the certain normalization of vegetative sphere of researched one, however keeps enough a high level of psycho-emotional pressure. It is confirmed, that under influence of functional music, the states of students is optimized not only during examination, and after one. The changes are observed at all levels: mental, psycho-emotional, psychophysiological, behavioural.
