Gayday S. Geo-ecological evaluation of the territory of the 30-kilometer zone of the Khmel'nitskiy Nuclear Power Plant

A procedure is developed for the geo-ecological evaluation of a territory as a component of the economic estimation of influence on the environment. The integral indices of the geo-ecological estimation of the territory that are determined are productivity of soils and forested areas, on the basis of which it is possible to evaluate the economy of anthropogenic influences on the natural environment. As a result of the complex of works and analytical generalizations with the aid of the topographical- geochemical approach the following is determined: level of variability of the geo-system related to the content of humus and acidity, and the plant cover in accordance with the edaphic conditions of the 30-kilometer zone of the Khmel'nitskiy NPP. Recommendations are given related to the use of results of the geo-ecological evaluation within the system of ecological monitoring, control and optimal uses of natural resources. In connection with this, the system of monitoring in the 30-kilometer zone of the Khmel'nitskiy NPP was improved.
