Arkhypova M. The civil protection of geographical indications in Ukraine

Within the scope of the dissertation the concept of and the context of intellectual property rights on geographical indications were analyzed. The procedures of realization and protection of the rights mentioned above examined according to the Ukrainian legislation. In the dissertation the main legal characteristics of geographical indications, the context of intellectual property rights on geographical indications and rights of the subjects that are entitled to use geographical indications, according to the Ukrainian legislation were examined. The comparative analysis was made between the provisions of the TRIPS Agreement, the provisions of the relevant European Council Regulations and the provisions of Ukrainian legislation concerning the protection of geographical indications.
