. In the dissertation clinical, anatomical and pathogenical peculiarities of bilateral inguinal hernias have been studied. Unification classification of bilateral inguinal hernia and determination of optimal open method of inguinal channel repair in different types of bilateral inguinal hernias was elaborated. Synchronous preperitoneal hernioplasty and routine hernioplasty methods with prosthesis for direct and recurrent bilateral inguinal hernias were compared by the time of operation and number of complications
