Essay

The work develops and researches new polarization methods of hail zone detection in clouds and precipitation. The analysis has been done, and necessity of new methods of sounding using polarimetric parameters has been proven; mathematical models of weather radar polarimetric sounding have been developed. The models allow to investigate relations between polarization parameters and statistical characteristics of scatterers. Adequacy of models has been confirmed by experimental data; three algorithms for hail zones detection were offered for airborne weather polarimetric radar. Reliability of detection is has been estimated statistical simulation on the basis of data.
