Essay

This thesis is based on deep study of the background and the leading scientific approaches of the modern day, their analysis and comprehension in the light of the modern educational science, in particular in view of scientific, educational and enlightening activity of Prof. A.M. Shcherbyna. The named paper gives ground for necessity to research scientific and pedagogical heritage of A.M. Shcherbyna, whose activity made a vital contribution to development of national typhlopedagogy. Upon application of analysis of historical materials pedagogical views of A.M. Shvherbyna in regard to the special features of mental development, education and upbringing of persons with visual impairments, results of his enlightening and educational activities were defined.
