The dissertation is focused on the problem of improving prognostication in renal-cell carcinoma (RCC) after surgical interventions. A retrospective study of remote results of surgeries for RCC was made, including 130 patients (76 males and 54 females). The research program also included an experimental study of cellular immunity and cytokine status in 54 individuals (29 patients with RCC and 25 healthy blood donors). The statistical relation to survival was estimated for 70 different parameters (constitutional criteria, clinical, laboratory and biochemical data; the results of the immunological assays). The condition of cellular immunity and cytokine status in RCC patients was assessed before and after the surgery. The patients with RCC were found to exhibit secondary immunological suppression, which was demonstrated, in part, by the 49,8% expression of CD3+ and by the 8,3% expression of CD25+. However, the activity of the cytokine immunity was markedly increased (serum ?-interferon 15,7 pcg/cc). A new comprehensive system of prognostication of post-surgery metastasizing of RCC and patient survival was developed as the ultimate result of the fore mentioned research
