Essay

The present thesis is dedicated to the comparative legal research of prosecution bodies in Slovakia, Poland, Czech and Ukraine. It is the first thesis research that highlights the problems of public prosecutor s office evolution in the abovementioned states since 1989 till present days, the causes and conditions that favoured it as well as legal standpoints of practical men and scientists on these issues. It specifies the public prosecution system peculiarities, its structural principles, specific subordination character and the problems faced by the abovementioned countries in securing guarantees for functioning of this institution and ways for solving of these problems. It reveals the prosecutor's role within the system of public administration and depending on this, the principles of its interaction with state authorities, including the Ministry of Justice. It contains comparative description of the prosecutor's mission and improvement of legal regulation of the constitutional and legal status, organization and functioning of the prosecutor s office taking into account the best practices and positive experiences of other countries researched.
