The dissertation investigates the issue of the integration of data on natural resources and conditions into the land information system (LIS); the concept of LIS environmental database structure is formulated; the method for the integration and raising spatial accuracy of qualitative data of thematic maps is proposed; the suitability of land for potato on two study areas was assessed using original method based on the FAO methodology and the anaysis of limiting ecological factors.
