The dissertations the first Ukrainian monographic work is devoted of complex research and the definition of the modern state, the nature and the essence of the modern state duties as general theoretic categories and their basic features. The problems of the staties and the moving forces of the state are differentiated. The differences between the state duties, state servies and the public policy are pointed out and analysed. The basic conceptual approaches to the modern state typology are researched, the influence of the globalization and the personalization processes on the modern state duties are defined and some other duties of the modern state are considered
