Essay

The thesis is devoted to integral study of the stylistic paradigm of the Persian short story in the new Persian literature of the 20th century, in particular in the period of its formation and (20th - 30th) and development and summit (40th years of the 20th century). Texts of the foremost Persian prose writers, such as, Mirza Ali Akbar-khan Dehkhoda (1879 - 1956), Mohammad Ali Jamal-zadeh (1892 - 1997), Seyd Mohammad Baher Hejazi (1901 - 1974), Sadegh Hedayat (1903 - 1951), Bozorg Aliavi (1904 - 1997) and others are been analysed. It has been concluded that tradition to characterize Persian short stories written in the 20th - 40th years of the 20th century in the course of realistic poetics and to estimate its achievements on the basis of the criteria of the artistic method of realism - tradition formed in the soviet literary criticism - has been caused by its time peculiarities and historical conditions. At the same time analysis of Persian short stories shows its stylistic wealth and active use of the poetics of modernism by Iranian short story writers which by no means has decreased the artistic value of the works but vice versa has helped to enrich its figurative and stylistic palette. Iranian literary criticism does not differentiate novel and short story and uses the only term for both of them which is "dastan-e kutah". According to the Ukrainian literary criticism the stylistic paradigm of short prose has been studied on the basis of genre classification - short story itself, novel, miniature, fairy tale, scetch etc. It has been concluded that the novelistic tendency or trend of the short stories are been realised by the means of certain style under the rules of an internal development of the texts.
