Essay

The Dissertation research is devoted to the problem of the first-year pupils' integral perception of nature. The purpose of this research is to examine the junction between primary and pre-school schools. The unique distinguishing characteristics of each are examined. The peculiarities of childrens' natural learning tendencies at this juncture are defined and analyzed. The lesson "Ukraine and Myself" provided experiential activities appropriate to the learning modes of the children in the areas of reading, writing, maths, art, handicrafts, music, labour training and foundations of health. Children participated in activities to introduce nature and encourage perception formation through discussions about the objects of nature, and through reading and discussion of textbook content with the purpose of more widely and broadly defining and deepening childrens' understanding of nature. In addition extra-curricular work involved pupils in interacting directly with the "Corner of Nature Research" in the classroom. Also the pupils listened to parents' stories about nature and then drew pictures in copybooks to accurately reproduce the information about nature.
