Bilins'ka O. The Architectural Order in Lviv Buildings of the XVI-XVII Centuries (Application Principles and Restoration Methods)

This thesis summarizes previous reseach regarding order usage. Basing on the traditional methods and methods that are introduced by the author, the principles of order usage in Lviv architecture of the second half of the XVI century and XVII century were determined: functional, special, compositional, periodic and stylistic dependencies; superposition with other tectonic systems; order variability; proportions variability; order composition with decor; decorative and semantic functions. As result of the structural analysis of the order (tier, metric and modular) the peculiarities of the order usage were discovered. Historical prototypes (in Serlio's treatise) and analogue, anastylosis, signation and museification the principles of modern conservation were determined. The special algorithm of restoration and recommendations for performing restoration of architectural order were developed.
