Essay

102 diabetes mellitus type 2 patients with neuropathic ulcer (disease duration less than 0,5 month) have been examined. A group of comparison consisted of 18 patients without given complication, but with diabetic neuropathy. It was determined that formation of diabetic neuropathic ulcer is connected with diabetes mellitus duration, degree of glucose metabolic disorder and manifestation of diabetic neuropathy. Diabetes mellitus type 2 is chararacterized by the increase of C-reactive protein (CRP) and fibrinogen content in peripheral blood, suppression of fibrinolytic plasma activity and by the decrease in serum albumin concentration. In the persons with neuropathic ulcer a futher increase in blood CRP and fibrinogen levels (Р<0,05) occur without marked changes of fibrinolytic plasma activity and albumin content. Additionally, in the patients with inflammation a reliable intensification activity of a complement system is registered. A conclusion was drawn that determination of CRP, fibrinogen and complement activity may be very useful in a monitoring of treatment efficacy of neuropathic ulcer
