Zholnovych I. Theoretical problems and practical issues of criminalistic description of a person's appearance.

The dissertation researches criminalistic description of a person's appearance issues. It defines such categories as traits of appearance, appearance, verbal portrait, subjective portrait. Officials, empowered to carry out criminalistic description, sources information about appearance are presented in the research. Traits of appearance and subjective portraits are classified; ways and methods of fixing the appearance are studied in the dissertation. In the work the stress is made on practical problems of using the appearance particularities. The cases materials of using appearance particularities in operative - investigative and expert activities are studied; the mistakes made by the law enforcement authorities are revealed and the ways to eliminate them suggested.
