The dissertation highlights the factors which caused the growing importance of international non-governmental organizations in the contemporary world politics; based on the author's classification, different forms of their impact on the world politics have been defined, including both its global and regional dimensions; the most efficient methods of their interaction with intergovernmental organizations and governments have been determined; their advantages in world politics have been outlined; the features of non-governmental organizations as an institute of civil society have been defined, as well as their significance for the development and strengthening of democracy; and finally the author has elaborated the recommendations for their better international recognition and improving the mechanisms of their cooperation with the state.
