The dissertation deals with a study of the specific characteristics of clinical symptomatology, cognitive functions, the level of pro- and antioxidants in the blood, cerebral hemodynamics for the purpose of optimising diagnostics and improving pathogenetically substantiated treatment with the use of carvedilol and cratal in patients with dyscirculatory encephalopathy of stages I and II. A high clinical efficacy of using carvedilol and cratal in comparison with basic treatment at the expense of an essential regress of the indices of complaints, and neurological status, improvement of patients' higher cerebral functions, a normalization of the processes of lipid and protein peroxidation and cerebral hemodynamics have been demonstrated.
