Dissertation thesis studies the place of the Ukrainian question in the concepts of Polish opposition of 1976-1989 on the basis of Polish "second circulation" publications. Attitude of Polish oppositionists towards Polish-Ukrainian border and towards independence of Ukraine and its role in East Central Europe are among the issues discussed in the thesis. The making of new images of Ukraine and Ukrainians in the discourse of Polish opposition was retraced. The ways for Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation as seen by Polish oppositionists were analyzed.
