The Object – the process of forming artistic culture of Handicraft teachers-to-be in a higher pedagogical school; subject – the system of forming artistic culture of Handicraft teachers-to-be by means of folk art; objective – to lay out the theoretical basis and carry out the experimental check-up of the pedagogical effectiveness of the system of forming artistic culture of Handicraft teachers-to-be by means of folk art; methods of scientific investigation: scientific observations, quizzing, testing, interviewing students, Handicraft teachers and masters of folk crafts; systematization and generalization of the peculiarities in the process of forming artistic culture; analysis of up-to-date state of the contents of artistic-aesthetic training of Handicraft teachers-to-be; modeling the system of forming artistic culture of Handicraft teachers-to-be by means of folk art and giving scientific background for the process of managing this system; working out and putting into practice the structure-and-function model of the system of forming artistic culture of Handicraft teachers-to-be by means of folk art and organizational model for managing it; carrying out the determining and forming experiments; statistic and mathematic data processing of the research results; novelty - the structure-and-function model of the system of forming artistic culture of Handicraft teachers-to-be by means of folk art and organizational model for managing this system are worked out and the theoretical background for these models provided; the notions of “artistic culture” and “artistic culture of Handicraft teachers-to-be” are specified; the criteria for determining the levels of artistic culture formed as a professional skill are improved; the results gained in the research can be applied to the improvement of the existing curricula for higher educational establishments, and also present some practical value in the process of lining out some certain perspective ways in artistic-aesthetic culture and inner beauty of teachers-to-be enriching; the results mentioned can also be used in the practical activity of out-of-class club and society leaders realizing artistic-aesthetic education of their pupils.
