Bezruchko O. O.P.Dovzhenko-pedagogue. Creative search and method

The dissertation investigates a pedagogical activity of the famous Ukrainian film director and writer O.P.Dovzhenko (1894-1956) in a context of the development of cinema art education in Ukraine. The dissertant reconstructs the process of O.P.Dovzhenko's formation as a pedagogue and an artist, making a deep analysis of a wide variety of sources and involving previously unknown archival sources in the academic discourse. The researcher has defined the factors that had influenced formation of Dovzhenko's pedagogical views, as well as a structure and the peculiarities of functioning of the Ukrainian artistic cinema institutions where an artist taught. O.V.Bezruchko investigates Dovzhenko's pedagogical heritage that constitutes an elaboration and implementation of the experiments, innovative for that time. Bezruchko shows how the artist tried to restore the national system of cinema education even after this educational system had been destroyed under the slogan of its reorganization.
