Mazepova O. Linguistic peculiarities of Sohrab Sepehri’s idiostyle

The thesis is dedicated to researching the idiostyle of Iranian poet Sohrab Sepehri, one of the brightest representatives of she’re now (new poetry) – the most prominent current in the Iranian poetry of the 20th century, which has determined the outlook of modern Iranian poetry. The author’s methodology is generally in line with anthropocentric paradigm in linguistics, which inspired the growing interest of the students of linguistic poetics in idiostyle as the key conceptual framework for the study of poetic text. The thesis represents an attempt to examine the idiostyle of the Iranian poet with the help of linguistic approaches such as conceptual analysis and cognitive methods, which help to reconstruct such categories of idiostyle as language world picture and language personality of the author. Based on the analysis of the dominant concepts of poetic world picture, a model of the concept-sphere of Sohrab Sepehri’s poetry has been proposed, which includes the core, the core-adjacent zone, immediateand remote peripheries. The linguistic features of Sohrab Sepehri’s poetic world picture, as analyzed in the thesis, include: the image system, grammatical and stylistic means of text organization. The image system is analyzed based on the material of binary-type metaphorical phrases with the help of cognitive methods.
