Yaremchuk I. Diagnosis and choice of medical treatment for chronic proctogenic colostasis

This research work is dedicated to improvement of results of treatment for chronic proctogenic colostasis by advancing of diagnostic methods and determining of diagnostic criteria of colostasis different types and individualization of curative tactics. It is strongly recommended to evaluate functional condition of rectum with the purpose to diagnose proctogenic colostasis. The adequate type of surgical procedure for colostasis is proved. Operation of choice for severe colostasis is distal subtotal colectomy with low anterior resection of the rectum. Functional classification of this disease is determined. Evaluation of efficacy of different methods of biofeedback-training for variety of proctogenic colostasis forms is performed. The new type of reservoir stapled side-to-end anastomosis was proposed and effectiveness of it applying was proved. Inexpediency of surgery for pelvic floor dyssynergia was testified.
