Sakharenko O. European Policy of the Republic of Austria.

The thesis investigates the policy of the Republic of Austria regarding the European integration structures before Austria's joining the European Union in 1995 and as of an EU member-state. With this aim the author has analyzed the complex of internal factors and mechanisms of the build-up and realization of the European policy of Austria, has defined the stages of Austria's policy regarding EC before 1995 and has characterized their prerequisites and peculiarities. There were defined the reasons, which determined Austria's departure from the conception of the globally oriented active neutrality towards the full-scale integration into the European Union. The author has analyzed the influence of the process of Austria's integration and the fact of its membership in the European Union on its European policy, in particular on its position concerning the enlargement and intensification of the European integration, EU reform process etc. Based on the obtained results there have been worked out a number of recommendations for the build-up of the effective EU-integration strategy of Ukraine and the mechanisms of its national interests' realization within the EU as well as in the СЕЕ region.
