Chernega R. Citizens' Right to the participation in local government: status and the ways of improvement

The thesis is devoted to the study of citizens' participation in local government in Ukraine. The research develops the notion and nature of citizens' participation in solving problems of local importance. In the thesis it is defined and analyzed the main principles of activities of local rada deputies; interesting citizens in the processes of local government, in particular. As used here, the problems of the responsibility of local rada deputies and other elective offices of local government are examined. On the basis of the analysis of international legal documents concerning local government, theoretical and practical researches, taking into account the present regulations of current legislations, specific ways of improving the process of citizens' participation in local government in Ukraine are suggested.
