The object of the research is the formation of the Ukrainian political nation in the context of Ukraine's European integration. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research is the system of complementary philosophical, scientific and special methods. The new scientific approach of the dissertation lies in the fact that it is the first holistic and systematic research into the renaissance of the Ukrainian Germans' ethnic identity in the context of the formation and development of the Ukrainian political nation and its integration into the European community. The field of application includes Ukraine's ethno-political management, educational work at all levels and the national and cultural activity of Ukraine's ethnic Germans' organisations, as a basis for further research into the issue of the renaissance of the Ukrainian Germans' ethnic identity.
