Essay

The dissertation deals with the problem of psychological preparation of future primary school teachers for tutoring socially neglected children. The necessity for future teachers' psychological competence forming is theoretically grounded and practically proved, which is required for successful work with the aforementioned school students. The professional aptitude and psychological features were defined that should comprise the above competence. The thesis reveals the reasons for social neglect, and the relevant ideas of Ukrainian and foreign scholars are analyzed, as well as theoretical and practical approaches to the problem of future teachers' training for work with such children. The concept of psychological competence is described; the levels of its formation in student teachers and peculiarities of its development elicited. Presented are the outcomes of testing of the authored training course.
