The thesis is devoted to a topical question of specificity of post-graduate pedagogical education development in the regional conditions.The peculiarities of this problem in the Crimean Autonomous Republic are considered in different periods of its history. Three substantial parts of research are elaborated: formation, development, perspectives of post-graduate pedagogical education in the Crimean Autonomous Republic. Taking into account social and historical conditions, the periods of formation and development of post-graduate pedagogical education in the Crimea were determined: 1) before 1921; 2) 1921-1953; 3) 1954-1959; 4) 1960-1990; 5) since 1991 hitherto. The content of the terms 'in-service education', 'post-graduate pedagogical education', 'innovation techniques' are specified. Goals, objectives and forms of organization of in-service education of teachers and infant school educators are investigated from the point of view of the teachers-training institutes during the above-mentioned periods. The present functions of post-graduate pedagogical institutes are identified. The tendencies of development of republic and regional level institutes (teachers-training institutes, post-graduate institutes) are proved.
