Demchenko O. The interest groups exist in the mass media such as subject of influence on the political process in Ukraine.

The object is activity of interest groups in Ukraine. The aim is to open the conditions, principles and forms of activity of basic interest groups existing in mass media, their efficiency and capabilities of influencing on political process in Ukraine. The methods are analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, simulation (creation of ideal types), system approach. The dissertation deals with the formation of the methodological basis for researching of interest groups in mass media and defining of their conditions and prospects in Ukraine. The author defined and described the types of interest group that exist and effectively working in mass media. Of the main types of interest group in mass media are a journalist community and the owner of mass media. Interest groups are considered as a part of political process and political system. Also the conditions of development of the interest groups theory were described. The methodology for interest groups studying with the backgrounds on the value measures is present in the second part of this dissertation. On the basis of research outcomes the conclusions are made and the practical guidelines are formulated. The sphere of use is protection of the journalists interests.
