The dissertation investigates the issue of ensuring methodological preparation of future music teachers to esthetic education of school students by means of music and drama. We have characterized the essence and content of music and drama activities, defined their esthetic educational significance and analyzed methodological problems of training future music teachers to use the music theater means efficiently in esthetic education. We have determined and justified the criteria, indicators and levels of preparation of students majoring in music to educating school students esthetically by music theater means. We have developed and tested a step-by-step methodology of preparing future music teachers for esthetic education of school students by music and drama means.
