Essay

The dissertation is devoted to studying bacterial necrosis and black wood diseases of grapes, diagnostics and identification of pathogens of these diseases and development of their control. As a result of fytosanitory inspection of vineyards of the south part of the Ukraine during 1995-2005 years the bacterial necrosis and black wood diseases symptoms have been revealed for the first time. The pathogenic organism of bacterial necrosis was cultivated on glucose-peptone agar. On the base of their morphological and biochemical properties they were identified as X. ampelinus. The antisera to X.ampelinus strains have been received and the diagnostic set for revealing the pathogen by ELISA test is prepared. It is established, that are most infected cultivars by grapevine bacterial necrosis are: Early Magaracha, Sucholimansky white, the Muscat tairovsky and Moldova. Black wood disease phytoplasma is identified by polymerase chain reaction and electronic microscopy of ultrathin sections. It was established, that Chardonea cultivar is most susceptible to this disease. Distribution and harmfulness of black wood disease on the Ukrainian vineyards is revealed. The water therapy was applied to bring in a healthy state from phytoplasma infection the grapevine rootlings. The water therapy is allowed to recover 13000 rootling. The carrier of black wood phytoplasma - cicada Hylesthes obsoletus is revealed and identified. Recommendations are given to the farmers.
