Essay

The expression of factors taking part in formation of immunologic and non-specific resistance in healthy children and patients with recurrent and chronic bronchitis was studied. The group of healthy children with the disturbances in the immune system, prooxidant-antioxidant state and energetic metabolism was denoted as a risk group for recurrent bronchitis development. It was found that chronic bronchitis was developed in children on the background of the presence of the secondary immunodeficiency, tissue hypoxia and oxidative stress. The mechanisms underlying the worse outcome of chronic bronchitis in children were suggested.
