The dissertation presents systematized and complex investigation of deportation policy of Stalin totalitarian regime, realized in Western areas of Ukraine in 1939?1953. The determinants of applying this policy, its nature, structure and functions have been analyzed from the point of view of a political process (in its narrow sense) as well as the technologies of the state institutions of Stalin totalitarizm, aimed at strengthening of their power in that area. The author considers the stages of implementing the deportation policy in Western regions of Ukraine, focuses on the ways and methods of its realization in every particular region. In the focus of attention are the part and the role of the highest party-governmental authorities of the USSR and URSR and local radyansky bodies of power in the processes of realization of deportation policy.
