Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the research of the development of junior schoolchildren's creative imagination as a component of their subjectness. Theoretical analysis of this problem enabled to give concrete definition of the categories of "subject" and "subjectness". The peculiarities of motivational, regulative, cognitive and reflexive aspects of junior schoolchildren's subjectness in their learning activity are studied. The representation of creative imagination as an important part of the development of junior schoolchildren's subject activity enabled to substantiate its functional roles in subject's learning activity. They are: goal setting and sense making; subjective modelling of the educational content and it subsequent productive transformation; reflective controlling, evaluating and correcting through learning. Special interdisciplinary educational program "Development of Junior Schoolchildren's Creative Imagination" based on humanistic psychology's principles (acceptance and respect, individualization, dialogicity, facilitation, cooperative interaction etc.) was elaborated and applied to primary school curriculum. As a result of the course, indices of creative imagination, personal and intellectual development of the junior schoolchildren appreciable increased.
