The dissertation formulates the results of research on peculiarities of the process of party alteration in Ukraine in the context of the democratic content of the process and its accordance with the standards of western party democracy, which is the result of the activity off western mass parties. The work substantiates the necessity of introducing and carrying out in Ukraine of party reform which will enable creating valid parties forming the effective party system.
