Zablots’kiy V. Language Policy in Ukraine: State and Optimisation Tendencies

The object – language policy. The aim – complex analysis of language policy, peculiarities of its formation in Ukraine. Methods – historic, systematic, structural and functional, comparative etc. Theoretical and practical results – theoretic and applied aspects of language policy implementation in Ukraine have been explicated, directions for its optimization have been suggested. Novelty - technology of language policy realization have been revealed, the mechanism of its implementation has been perfected, it’s been proved that state importance of the Ukrainian language is a factor of the Ukrainian society consolidation, the necessity to revise the views to the essence of European Charter for Regional languages and minority languages has been grounded. Practical application – working out the concept of the state language policy, preparing courses on political sciences. Sphere of the use – activity of power structures, political and public organizations.
