Essay

The dissertation deals with the problem of youth NGO members' aptitude for leadership. Analyzed was the state of the art in this domain, and the main concepts of leadership were generalized. The results of research in the structure of a youth NGO are presented in the thesis, along with draft taxonomy of such structures characteristic of youth NGOs belonging to different trends. The basic traits and psychological features of a leader were elicited, which comprise the leader's aptitude model, and different types of such models described. Peculiarities of the process of acute social problems solving by the leader were scrutinized. The impact of environmental factors of different levels on the leader's aptitude development was elicited, these factors belonging to micro-environment (family conditions, level of education), mezzo-environment (cultural variety, moral and intellectual values, acquired information), and macro-environment (social and political life in the country). The possibility to affect the leader's capability through training was proved.
