Taking into consideration peculiarities of development of state-legal phenomena in transitional period of evolution of Ukraine and on the basis of analysis of postsoviet stage of it's transformation, and also leaning for research of such socially important phenomena as legal state and civil society as fundamental tendencies of changes and reforms in contemporary Ukraine, the author tries to give her own definitions of legal state, civil society, postsoviet state, postsoviet law, postsoviet period and one of the main principles of legal state - the principle of leadership of law. And also taking into account the analysis of the historical past of Ukraine, peculiarities of mentality of Ukrainian people, achievements and errors of postsoviet authority, the author of dissertation puts in her own propositions on improvement and development of basic systems of society: economic, political, legal. The author stresses the necessity of reforming of these systems for guarantee of effectiveness of the main principle of legal state: man is the highest social value.
