Essay

Object - resistance to erosion of typical chernozems effected by different systems of soil tillage and fertilizing. Purpose - the study of proving and reasons for the use of practices to increase the resistance to erosion of typical chernozems from the right-Bank Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine based on non-plow soil tillage and organic-mineral fertilizing system in soil -protecting and conventional crop rotations. Methods - long-term field test plots, laboratory, mathematical and statistical, data processing and model field tests with sprinkling irrigation. Novelty - a positive effects were detected of the conservation tillage and organic-mineral fertilizing systems on decreasing the erodibility of typical chernozems eroded to varying degree, optimization of their physical properties, activity of soil mesofauna, and plant residue accumulation. For the first time, in the northern part of the Right-Bank Forest Steppe zone, some statistical relations were detected between surface runoff and erosion loss onthe one hand, and the following soil parameters on the other: physical clay content, soil organic matter, aeration porosity, diameter of water-resistant soil aggregates and infiltration coefficient. It is proved that different depth sweeper tillage combined with optimal fertilizing favor the reduction of surface runoff and soil loss compared with conventional tillage. Results of researches - are employed in the practice of crop production and research activities. Branch - agricultural sciences.
