Reshetukha S. The prose of Oleksa Storozhenko: peculiarities in genre and style.

In this paper the works of O.Storozhenko are studied in the context of historical events and literary process of the second half of 19th century, the genre specification of his works is defined, gist and contexture structures, narration and situation peculiarities, the system of characters are analyzed. The novel "Brother-twins" is analyzed in details and the influence of M. Gogol on the scenery and characters creation is traced. Here the following points are analyzed: the myth about twins, eternal priest, the gallery of social characters. Attention is paid to the gothic works, their specification, the analogy is drawn with the "chimerical" prose of 20th century, and it is proved that O.Storozhenko had the partial influence on the development of this literary phenomenon.
