Zushman M. Short literary works of Bohdan Lepkyj in the context of short story genre in West Ukraine of late XIX - early XX century.

The thesis is a pioneer attempt in the Ukrainian literary study to make comparative and typological perusal of Bohdan Lepkyj's short literary works in the light of the best works of the novelists prominent in West Ukraine of late XIX - early XX century. With this purpose, the critical reception of the short literary works has been analised, the main motives of the writer's short stories have been elucidated, originality og the modification of the short story and short novel genres has been observed. Moreover, the writer's innovation has been apreciated, who through eclectic combination of aesthetic means pertaining to folklore, realism, romantisism and modernism managed to create an original artistic system.
