Zosimova O. Motif "Vanitas Vanitatum" in the Ukrainian Poetry of the Second Half of the XVIIth - the Early XVIIIth Century

Object – the Ukrainian poetry of the second half of the ХVІІth and the early ХVІІIth century; aim – to define the peculiarities of the national interpretation of the motif «vanitas vanitatum» in the context of the common tendencies of the development of the contemporary European literature; methods – descriptive, comparative, structural and semantic, cultural and historical, biographical; novelty – a systematic, thorough analysis of the motif «vanitas vanitatum» on the rich material of the Ukrainian verse literature of the period in question; results – a detailed survey of various stylistic devices, used to convey the idea of Vanity, is presented, the role of the motif «vanitas vanitatum» as one of the most important components of the ideological system of the Ukrainian baroque poetry is defined, the specific traits of genre interpretation of the idea of Vanity and individual peculiarities of its artistic expression in the works of Ukrainian baroque authors are analyzed.
