The object of research - seed and softwood cutting propagation of the eight varieties of Japanese quince. The purpose of research - to study and work out the methods which will make it possible to improve propagation and to increase the productivity of Juglans L. cultivation in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest Steppe Zone of Ukraine. The methods of research - field, laboratory, laboratory-field, mathematic-statistic, economic-expected. Theoretical and practical results - Farm practices of growing planting material of varieties of Japanese quince based on a complex studying of both seed and softwood cutting propagation were improved. Scientific novelty - it is for the first time that the correlation between seed propagation and peculiarities of a variety, stratification term, substrate type and temperature conditions was identified. Morphological peculiar features of the rooting of Japanese quince softwood cutting depending on the pomological variety, merism, terms of storing and planting the cuttings, the effect of optimal concentrations of growth regulators. The method and terms of extended growing of rooted cuttings were determined. Extent of the introduction - in the teaching process of Uman state agrarian university, Uman state pedagogical university, nurseries of the National dendrological park "Sofiyivka" - Research Institute of Ukraine's NAS, Uman state forestry and enterprise "Umanzelenhosp". The sphere of application - commercial gardening, agrarian educational institutions.
