Carbohydrate metabolism in patients with skin and mucous candidiasis is being studied in this dissertation. It was noted that early stages of carbohydrate metabolism disorders play a significant role in pathogenesis of skin and mucous candidiasis. It was determined that 15 (14,7%) of 102 patients with candidiasis investigated were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, in 14 (13,7%) diabetes mellitus was detected at the first time, and in 34 (33,3%) of patients with candidiasis showed malfunction in tolerance to glucose. Based on clinical data a method of treatment for patients with candidiasis using phyto-based methods. Clinical effectiveness of the proposed method of treatment was studied and its effect on normalization of carbohydrate metabolism. A cream containing the oils, Salvia and Foeniculum along with an extraction of Artemisia, is non-irritating, non-toxic and non-allergenic.
