Verbych N. Intonaion of persuasive public speech (experimentally-phonetic research).

The intonation in public speaking, which intends to persuade the listeners in certain views of the speaker. Peculiarities of intonation organization of public speeches, such as scientific reports or political speeches, are identified on the basis of in-depth analysis of main prosodic characteristics. It was found that those segments of text, wich carry out the persuasive function, nave common intonation design in speeches of varions genres. The teoretical significance of the thesis is determined by the fact that it isa complex research on the problem of prosodic means correlation in the arrangement of public speaking of informative and persuasive nature. The results of research allow for the development of a set of recommendations regarding the intonation setting of public speeches of politicians, lecturers, representatives of cultural sphere or science.
