Babiy I. Communicative-Pragmatic Parameters of Descriptions in the "Small Prose" Texts of the Late XX - Early XXI Centuries.

In the thesis the status of descriptive nomens as one of the basic means of the reference processes realization is defined; the descriptive constructions are regarded in the light of modern syntactic theories; the understanding of descriptions as the nominations descriptive-figurative variety is presented. The results of the modern "small prose" texts analysis gave a possibility to reveal the semantic and structural typologies of the descriptive constructions. On the basis of the broad factual material analysis (the card index contains 4000 descriptions) the communicative-pragmatic functional load of the descriptions in the "small prose" texts of the late XX - early XXI centuries was identified (the introductive, identifying-referential, predicative-qualifying, nominative-figurative, text-building, comparative-characterizing, etiquette, appellative, axiological-orientational, allusion-implicative and complex functions were outlined). The thesis contains the analysis of the semantic features and pragmatic peculiarities of the descriptions with the actualized inner form in the texts of modern "small prose"; the individual author's neologisms were regarded as the functionally important variety of the descriptive nomens; the communicative-pragmatic peculiarities of the trope-like descriptive nominations were investigated.
